William Thomas Howell, 72, of Davis passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 at his home. He had been an area resident for 22 years.
Bill was born February 23, 1935 in Hollywood, California to Clarence and Alice Howell. He grew up in Lakeport, California and owned a ranch for many years. Bill was a life member of the Lake County Historical Society and avidly read all of the history. As a youth, Bill was an outdoorsman. He served in the U.S. Air Force and taught survival training in the Sierras out side of Reno, Nevada. Bill clearly loved his little black and tan doxie, Sammy and the love was returned two fold.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Diane May Howell; sons: Carey (Jennifer) Howell and Robert (Leticia) Howell; step-sons: Frank (Lei) Bowen and Robert Bowen; grandsons: Matthew, Christopher and Andrew Howell and granddaughter, Jessica Howell.
Memorial services will be held Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at Wiscombes Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D Street with Pastor Tom Norvell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bills memory to Soroptimist International of Greater Davis Memorial Fund, American Red Cross, Yolo County Chapter Disaster Relief or American Heart Association.
