Ursula Kobos

April 25, 1922 — July 24, 2008

"Toni" Kobos passed away peacefully on July 24, 2008 in Davis, California, at the age of 86. She was born Ursula Mildred Royston on April 25, 1922 in Jonesboro, Tennessee to Felix Garland Royston and Mary Etta Copas. She graduated From Our Lady of the Woods School in Carthage, Ohio in 1940. Toni was a WAVE in the US NAVY during WWII where she served in the Hospital Corps and as a Dental Technician. While stationed in Chapel Hill, NC, she met a young sailor named Ted (Thaddeus Kobos) and they fell in love and were married on August 25, 1945. He preceded her in death four months ago. They would have been married for 63 years. Toni's passions were reading, always learning, political interests, volunteering, gardening, cooking, music and singing. She especially loved nurturing her family who always came first. She was a deeply spiritual woman whose life exemplified her beliefs.

She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Kobos and Jeanne Kobos Lupien; sister, Jean Warren; granddaughters, Krysta and Kelsey Lupien; brother in law, Leverette Warren; nephew Keith Warren; sons in law, Guy Lupien and John Nichols.

A funeral mass will be held at St James Catholic Church, Davis CA on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Sacramento Valley V.A. National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, August 11, 2008 at 2:00 P.M.
