Margaret Alice Keasey

December 20, 1933 — October 28, 2025

Margaret Alice (Pipoly) Keasey, born December 20, 1933, in Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, in Davis, CA, where she lived the past twenty-two years. In her passing, she has been joyfully reunited with her father, George Pipoly, who passed away suddenly in 1945, her mother, Margaret (Pinter) Pipoly, who passed away just as suddenly in 1968, and her husband, Edward W. Keasey, who passed away in 2001. She missed them all deeply throughout her life and carried their memories with her always. It gives her family solace to know that she finally can love and laugh with them again in the everlasting light of Christ.

Margaret is survived by her identical twin sister, Mary (Pipoly) Valvo for whom she had an awe inspiring, sisterly love and a deep, ethereal connection that only identical twins have. She also leaves behind her brother Robert Pipoly, whom she admired for both his business acumen and his gambling skill as a blackjack aficionado and slot machine dowser.

Margaret was admired by all for her intellect and trivia prowess. She was a prolific reader and devoted fan of Jeopardy! and Wheel-of-Fortune, which she watched religiously every evening. Had she been a contestant on Jeopardy!, she would have made quick work of Ken Jennings. She loved fitness and exercise and ran the Bay to Breakers race at 72 years of age. She volunteered for many years at Davis Parent Nursery School and Fairfield Elementary School.

Margaret had a very successful and award-winning career as an Executive Secretary for the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, Joseph Bucheit and Sons, the Ex-Cell-O Corporation, and Comerica Bank. Her biggest success in life, however, was being a generous, devoted, and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. So successful in fact that she could see herself and her own personal dreams come true in and through the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Her legacy and memory will proudly live on through her three children and their spouses, Richard Keasey (Cathleen), Laura Barger (Paul), and David Keasey (Anita), her ten grandchildren, Sean, Adam, Kyle, Lydia, Rebecca, Grace, Elizabeth, Michael, Molly, and Matthew, and her four great grandchildren, Noah, Aubree, Elliana, and Liam. She had an innate and extraordinary love of children, and nothing gave her more true joy in life than loving and giving to all of them, “while she was alive to see it,” as she so often said.

In her life, her love and kindness left an indelible impression on the hearts of all who loved her, and in her passing, she has left us cherished memories that will live on through the rest of our lives. A Memorial Mass to honor her life will be held on November 18, 2025, at 9 am at Saint James Catholic Church in Davis, California immediately followed by a celebration of her life at her daughter’s home, where all who loved her can share her stories.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to the Furniture Bank of North Central Ohio or SAY Detroit.
