Karen Tiffany Loveridge

With deep love and profound sadness, the family of Karen Tiffany Loveridge, née Karen Jane Tiffany, announces her peaceful passing at home on November 23, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born in old Letterman Hospital in San Francisco on December 31, 1943, to parents Willard and Lois. As her father was in the Army, she lived throughout the United States, moving every few years to a new community, including two years in Japan when her father was part of the occupying forces following the end of WWII.

In 1966, Karen graduated from Stanford University where she met and fell in love with her future husband of 59 years, Gary Loveridge. Karen and Gary moved to Davis in 1969 following his discharge from the Marine Corps. Together they raised two wonderful children, Kristofer and Tiffany. Karen was an active participant in their educational development, both as a tutor and in her many activities supporting the Davis public school system. Karen was an avid tennis player, talented painter, skilled knitter, fierce card player, and her family’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer.

Throughout her life, Karen always had a cat or two (or four) in her home. Her love of animals and nature shown brightest when she was by the ocean. She loved to spend hours searching for seashells on a beach or getting lost in the magical world of tidepools. Karen had a lifetime love for poetry. When she was a young girl, she wrote poems on the birthday and Christmas cards she gave to her parents. She could recite from memory many poems that she learned as a young girl.

Karen will be deeply missed. Her kindness, generosity, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. Karen is survived by her husband, Gary; her children, Kristofer and Tiffany; daughter-in-law Elizabeth; and her cherished grandchildren, Ayva, Maddie, Georgia, and Tobin.
