Gloria Joy Warren

Dec 31, 1930 — Jul 5, 2026

Our loving mother, Gloria Joy Warren, passed away peacefully at her home on July 5, 2026, at the age of 95.

Born on December 31, 1930, in Smithfield, Utah, to Kenneth and Vendla Gordon, Gloria was the second of eight children. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gloria lived her faith through acts of love, kindness, and service. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, unwavering faith, and the generosity she extended to everyone she met. She devoted her life to raising her family, embodying unconditional love, compassion, and a servant's heart. Whether caring for her children, supporting lifelong friends, or lending a helping hand to someone in need, Gloria's love was evident in everything she did.

Gloria shared a remarkable love story with her husband, Dale. Married for 56 years, they built a life centered on faith, family, and adventure. Together they raised their children, traveled the world, and created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Even after Dale's passing, he remained the love of her life, and their enduring devotion continues to inspire the generations that follow.

In the 1950s, Gloria became a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, an organization dedicated to friendship, personal growth, and philanthropy. She found great joy in the lifelong sisterhood it provided while helping raise funds for charitable causes supporting those affected by cystic fibrosis, scleroderma, lupus, kidney disease, and other illnesses. She enjoyed attending chapter events throughout California, helping organize local fundraising activities and annual brunches in Sacramento celebrating the accomplishments of participating chapters. The friendships she formed through Beta Sigma Phi remained among her most treasured throughout her life.

Gloria loved expressing her creativity through oil painting, porcelain painting, and crocheting. Her paintings adorn the homes of family members, preserving special memories for generations to come. She lovingly crocheted more than 100 blankets and hats, many of which she donated to hospital infant wards, Project Linus, and the Infusion Center, providing warmth and comfort to countless people she would never meet.

Gloria also had a love for travel and adventure. In her younger years, she especially enjoyed skiing with family and friends. She treasured family road trips, including a memorable journey with Dale and their children to the 1964 New York World's Fair. Throughout the years, she and Dale explored many places together, including Switzerland, the Panama Canal, the St. Lawrence Seaway, the Caribbean, and Alaska. Many of those adventures were shared with her beloved sister, MaryAnn, and brother-in-law, Dave. Of all the places they visited, Hawaii remained Gloria and Dale's favorite destination and a place they returned to often.

More than anything else, Gloria treasured time spent with the people she loved. Whether gathered around the dinner table, traveling with family, skiing in her younger years, or simply enjoying each other's company, those moments together brought her the greatest happiness.

Gloria is survived by her children, Gail Pope of Woodland, Bruce Warren (Ingrid) of Woodland, and Corrine Burgi (Craig) of Tracy; her sister, MaryAnn Robinson of Woodland; her brother, Kerry Gordon (Mikel) of Sacramento; her grandchildren, Tawna Aubuchon, Michelle Lee (Wes), Holly King (Michael), Tara Happy (Paul), Kevin Burgi (Jessica), and Michael Burgi (Sarah); 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life and devoted husband, Dale Glenn Warren; her parents, Kenneth and Vendla Gordon; her brothers, Verl, Fred, Rex, Dennis, and Keven Gordon; her son-in-law Charles Pope; and brother-in-law, David Robinson.
