Elizabeth Ann Abart

A dearly loved wife, sister, aunt and friend passed away August 31st in her home after a long hard battle with renal cancer.  She was a very strong and brave person enduring years of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, always with a good attitude.  She was a person that if you knew her you knew where you stood with her, she never held a grudge.  She loved her home, her pets and her family.  She celebrated holidays, especially Christmas, she enjoyed shopping, casino gambling and music by the Beatles.

She was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on July 19th,1952. Her teen years were lived at the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, LA. After high school she joined the Air Force and was stationed in Florida, where she meet her husband, then moved to California where they married and made their home here in Davis.  She was employed at UC Davis and worked as a secretary and transcriptionist at the veterinarian hospital.  She retired in 2016 after 25 years of service from UC Davis veterinarian school.

She leaves behind her husband Doug Abart, her sister and brother in law Connie and Mychael Pierce, brother in law Judd Abart, a niece Jennifer Savage, a dear friend Carol Neves and her 2 dogs Buddy and Bailey.

A graveside service will be on Monday September 12th at 10:00 A.M. at the Davis Cemetery.  She is greatly missed.

Liz fought but her body was always full of joy and a strong attitude towards life. I will always remember her as a friend and served us well.
