Eileen Marie Sprague, 82, of Dixon passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008. She had been an area resident for 35 years.
Eileen was born February 25, 1925 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Louis and Mary Luther. As a young woman Eileen worked for the Burlington Northern Rail Road as did her future husband Paul, however oddly enough they did not meet while they both worked there. Paul & Eileen met some time later and were married in 1949 at St. Columbans Church in Chillicothe Mo. Eileen is survived by her spouse of 58 years, Paul, and her two sons Douglas and Robert and her daughter Teri Almond. Douglas resides in St. Louis MO with his wife Rachel and son Fletcher, Robert resides in Davis with his wife Karen and children Alex, Max & Hunter, and Teri resides in Hollis, New Hampshire with her husband Bill and daughter Kelly. Eileen worked for Yolo-Solano Air Pollution Control District from 1973 to 1987 when she retired. Eileen and Paul lived in Woodland from 1973 to 1995, Yuba City from 1995 to 1997, Dixon from 1997 to 2007, and Davis from 2007 to 2008. Eileen enjoyed reading and gardening. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 25, 2008 at 12 Noon at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B Street in Davis. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery.
