Donald Fish passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in White Plains, NY, where he developed the values that guided him throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary Fish, and his two brothers; Robert Fish and his wife LeeAnn, Larry Fish and his wife Therese, and sister-in-law Leah. He is also survived by his children, Brandon Fish; Sue Banuelos and her partner Steven Grissom; and Cathy Fish and her husband Geoffrey Oddie. He leaves behind his four cherished grandchildren—Maxwell, Mitchell, Dakota, and Anora—who brought him endless pride and joy.
Donald built a respected career in banking, beginning with Irving Trust Company in New York. He later moved his family to Fresno, California, where he worked for the Bank of Fresno, and eventually settled in Davis, where he continued his work with First Northern Bank of Dixon.
He was deeply committed to education, earning a BA from Trinity College, an MBA from NYU, and a degree from the Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management at Harvard. An avid golfer who loved watching baseball and volleyball, Donald sang with a barbershop choral and quartet. He most cherished time with his family, eating ice cream with his grandchildren and traveling with Mary.
A celebration of life will be held in Davis, CA, on July 11, 2026. For details, please email fishontheline0739@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to First Tee Greater Sacramento to support their youth golf programs.
Donald will be deeply missed and forever loved.
