Debra Lynn Knight

Debra Lynn Knight died of a sudden illness on July 29th, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband Brian Murtha, beloved son Christopher Knight, beloved sisters Sharon Salmons and Teresa Leonard, and several nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Fremont High School UC Santa Cruz and built a career as a talented technical writer, most recently working for Digi International.

Debra cared deeply about the planet, animals, and social justice. Her compassion and dedication to these causes were evident to all who knew her. She was loved and respected by her family, neighbors, and many friends who will miss her terribly.

Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Carter Center or the Yolo County Animal Shelter in her name. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
