Angela Josephine Furnari (Angie), was born on May 25, 1945, in Liverpool, England. She passed peacefully at home on May 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer.
Angie grew up in Liverpool, and after graduation from Aigburth Vale Catholic School, she embarked on an adventure to Hollywood, California. As a registered nurse, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, she met her husband and started a family. In 1976, the family moved to Davis, California.
She dedicated her career helping others, while obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, from Sacramento State University, and a Master’s in public health at the University of San Francisco. She continued nursing for over 40 years, at the UC Davis Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, American River Hospital, and ultimately retiring from the Department of Health Care Services, Audits and Investigation Division.
She was an avid reader, who enjoyed volunteering at Logos Books. Loved to knit, creating the most beautiful sweaters, along with needlepoint, gardening and collecting English porcelain. Also, she was an enthusiastic tennis and football fan.
Angie was preceded in death by her mother and father Josephine and George Cairns, her parents Daisy and Issac Bethel, brother Thomas Cairns (Colette), and sister Pauline Nichol (John).
She is lovingly remembered by Joseph Furnari, their children Veronica Furnari-Berg (Andy), Jonathan Furnari, and Elizabeth Furnari. Also, a devoted grandmother to Abigail and Madeline Berg, Josephine, Carlos and Carter Furnari.
