Adele Ramelli Richardson, 96, passed away peacefully in Davis, CA.

Born to Julian and Anne Ramelli, Adele grew up in Walnut Creek, California. She graduated from Acalanes High School in Lafayette and the College of Notre Dame in Belmont. A devout Catholic, she will be dearly missed and never gone from our hearts. Adele was known for her kind and gracious demeanor. A life well lived and cherished.

An avid bridge player who achieved Life Master status from the American Contract Bridge League, she travelled the world on cruise lines teaching bridge with her sister-in-law Vera Richardson.

Married for nearly 65 years, Adele was preceded in death by her beloved husband James (2015). True companions and role models for their five children, they travelled extensively to more than 30 countries.

A loving and devoted mother, she is survived by Jeffrey (San Francisco), Mary Anderson (Sacramento), Timothy (Omaha), Julie (Gold River), and David/Melinda (Omaha). Proud grandmother to Justin (Julie) Richardson, Matthew (Nicole) Anderson, David Anderson, Elizabeth (Andrew) Markham, Nicholas (Chelsey) Richardson, James Richardson, and Megan Richardson. Great-grandmother to Liam, Emma, and Owen Anderson. Adele is also survived by her sister Annette Ramelli Ryan and dear nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert and sister-in-law Virginia Ramelli, brother-in-law William T. Ryan, Jr., and son-in-law Scott Anderson.

The family expresses their gratitude for the exceptional care provided by Sutter Hospice and University Retirement Community staff.

A private family service will be held in Davis. Adele will be laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California, beside her Marine veteran husband.
