Adam Gunther

June 2, 1984 — December 2, 2013

Adam died Dec. 2, 2013 in a car accident in Sacramento. He was 29. Adam lived in Davis most of his life. He graduated from Davis High School and earned an associate of arts degree from Sacramento City College. At the time of his death, he was enrolled in a business program at Sacramento State University and working in the property management field. Nothing gave Adam more happiness than being outdoors. From the time he was 5 years old, he would spend weekends at his family's cabin in the Sierra mountains, swimming, hunting for lizards, and hiking with his sister. In later years, he enjoyed running, camping, bike riding, walking his dogs and gardening. His first date with Sonja Main, his fiancAC.e, began with a hike. In addition to Sonja and her children, Sam and Abigail, Adam leaves his parents, Rob and Penny Gunther; his beloved sister, Maia Gunther and her husband Justin, nieces Marly Grace and her newborn sister; Garrett and Jeanne Gunther (aunt and uncle); cousins Thayne (Danielle) and Ian Gunther; Aunt Jennie Nestor; and many friends. A Celebration of Life is planned at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at the Stonegate Country Club, 919 Lake Blvd., Davis. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations for Sonja and her children in this time of transition. Donations may be made out to Sonja Main, c/o Penny Gunther to 3117 Chesapeake Bay Avenue, Davis, CA 95616. Any donations are to help Sonja and children get through this difficult time without Adam as she gets on her feet with a new job.
