Theodore Kobos

Theodore J. Kobos, 87, of Davis, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 11, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He had been an area resident for 20 years.

Ted was born April 9, 1920 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Joseph and Sophie Kobos. He married Ursula Tony Royston on August 25, 1945 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Ted was a pharmacist at Neville and Olkeefe Drug Store in Lawrence, Massachusetts for several years, then moved to Methuen, Massachusetts where he worked for several more years at Community Drug Store. While living in Salem, New Hampshire, Ted attended Mary Queen of Peace Parish. For the last 20 years of his life, Ted has been living in Davis, California to be near his daughters. Ted served in the U.S. Navy for four years during World War II as a Pharmacist Mate First Class, evacuating the wounded from the battle-fields in North Africa. He enjoyed ice skating and biking. Ted also loved going to the beach and deep sea fishing. He also had a special place in his heart for the U.S. Navy and the W.A.V.E.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Toni Kobos; daughters: Stephanie (Stevie) Kobos and Jeanne Lupien; sons-in-law: John Nichols and Guy Lupien; granddaughter: Krysta and Kelsey Lupien; sister-in-law, Jean Warren and her husband, Lev and their son, Keith and family. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 17, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church; 1275 B Street in Davis, CA.
