Mary Lou Hernandez, 75, of Davis, passed away peacefully August 20, 2008, with her family by her side, after several years of struggling with cancer.
Mary Lou was born March 13, 1933 in Davis, California to Eleuterio & Emeteria Garcia. She married Ernest Hernandez November 1, 1952 in Reno, Nevada. Mary Lou was voted Director Emeritus of the Yolo County Democratic Club and will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Concilio.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents Eleuterio & Emeteria Garcia ; sister, Consuelo and brothers: Enrique and Arthur.
Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ernest Hernandez; children: Nancy Canas, Kathleen Lopez, Cynthia Mata, Elaine Bailey and Gerald, Ernie, Marylou Hernandez; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Joseph, Hope, Carmen, Rosie, Alfred, Fernando, Mickie, Irene, Fred, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B Street in Davis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Davis Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary Lous memory to your favorite cancer charity.
