Lawrence Wold

Lawrence Eugene Wold was born February 24, 1939 to Lawrence Inman and Genevieve Rose Ray Wold in Chico, California. He was raised in the Sutter California community and graduated from Sutter High School and attended Yuba College, Sacramento State and the University of San Francisco. He was in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Lawrence died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 surrounded by his loving family.
Lawrence married his wife of 43 years, Katherine (Kathy) in November 1964. They lived in Yuba City, Auburn, Colusa and for the last 30 years in Davis, California. His 38 year professional career was with the USDA, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Services Agency, now called the Farm Services Agency. Lawrence was active in service organizations in each community they lived including the 20-30 Club, Lions Club, youth baseball, A Hunters Education Instructor and an active member of St. James Catholic Church, serving in many groups and committees, most recently President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
His father and mother preceded him in death. He has three brothers, Carl of Yuba City, Roy of Deer Lodge, Montana and Milo of St. Helens, Oregon.
Lawrence took special pride in his children and grandchildren: Victoria (Vicki) Lathos and her husband Tom of Santa Maria, CA, Lawrence M. (Larry) Wold and his wife, Kirsten Bock of Davis, CA, Mary K. Wold of Elk Grove, CA. To his way of thinking, the best grandchildren in the world are: Dominic and Athena Lathos of Santa Maria and Alex and Sophia of Davis, CA. He has the support of loving brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lawrence's memory to St. James Chapter of St. Vincent De Paul.
A time of visitation will be held Monday, July 21, 2008 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at Wiscombes Davis Funeral Chapel, 116 D Street in Davis, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church, 1275 B Street in Davis with a reception to follow in the memorial center. A private family burial will take place at Sutter Cemetery.
