Julia was born August 18, 1923 in Nelsonville, Ohio to Horace and Mary Travis. She was a loving and dedicated wife to her late husband, Kenneth Dawley for 57 years. Julia truly lived for her beloved family. Her gracious, dignified and loving manner touched the hearts of all she knew. Julia dearly loved our country and has always been proudly patriotic. During war-time, she served as Rosie the Riveter. She enjoyed bingo, bowling, and gardening and was a true blue fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Julia was also a member of the Paso Robles Moose Lodge.
Julia is survived by her daughters: Sharon Lee Shaffer of Modesto and Karen Sue Wood of Thousand Oaks; son, Brian Wesley Dawley of Capay, California; sisters: Marybelle Downing and Thelma Angle both of Groveport, Ohio as well as 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Julias memory to the Disabled Veterans.
