Gary Pranke

Gary (75) passed away on May 8, 2018 unexpectedly at his home in Winters, CA.

Gary was born in Minnesota, the son of the late Rachel Zimbelman.  He was the oldest of 2 brothers and he attended Oakes High School.  He served in the army and then during his life he worked hard until his retirement from truck driving.

After his retirement he enjoyed spending a lot of time with his family and his grandchildren.  He enjoyed hunting and taking trips to visit family.   He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.  He was a member of St. Antony’s Church in Winters and active with the Knights of the Columbus, especially with their monthly breakfasts.

Gary is survived by his brother, Jeffery Pranke of Arizona; son, Gary Pranke Jr (Stacy) of Nevada; daughter Barbara of North Dakota; daughters, Donna Pack, Rachel Pranke, Lillian Antonetti; sons, Mike Pranke and Dennis Mangin;  step-son Bret Gruben (Erin) of California; step-daughter, Stephanie Gruben, of California; Grandchildren: Shane, Austin, Cody, Dylan, Ashley, Gracelyn, Brayton Emili, Samantha, Jason, Jessica, Justin, John, Nyla and Savanna; Great-grandchildren: Abel, Jaxson, Cayden, Lilianna and many other family and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn Pranke; his mother Rachel Zimbelman; step-father Allisen Zimbelman; father William Pranke; infant brother Charles Pranke.

Viewing will be held Thursday, May 17th, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Saint Anthony’s Church, with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be Friday, May 18th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Anthony’s Church, 511 Main Street, Winters, CA.  Burial ceremony pending.  Arrangements made by Smith Funeral Home www.smith-funerals.com, online signing of guest book available on website.
