Edrie Braden

Edrie passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, in Sutter Memorial Hospital, Sacramento after a long and happy life. She was one day short of being 87 years old. She was born in Bruner, Missouri on February 19, 1922 to Lucy and Elmer Luttrull. She was one of 11 children. She married Clyde Braden in 1940 and they had one daughter, Karen. After Clyde returned from World War II, they moved to Sacramento and both went to work at McClellan Air Force Base. Clyde passed away in 1978. Edrie retired after 21 years from the Dept. of Defense. She worked there through three wars. After her retirement she enjoyed traveling to all four corners of the United States, including Hawaii. She moved to Davis in 1980. She was a resident of Olympic Cottages. Edrie was a strong, independent woman who lived alone until her last day. She loved her family and took great delight in her two granddaughters, Stephanie and Jennifer, and in her great-grandson, Andrew. She is survived by her daughter Karen Johns (Gary) of Davis, granddaughters Jennifer Johns of Woodland, Stephanie Loutzenhiser (Ron) of Galt, and great-grandson Andrew Loutzenhiser of Galt. She is also survived by 4 sisters and 3 brothers, including Mrs. Mary Jane Cobb of Citrus Heights and numerous nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Local arrangements are being made by Wiscombes Davis Funeral Chapel. She will be buried next to her late husband in Sparta Cemetery, Sparta, Missouri. Arrangements in Missouri are being handled by Barnes Funeral Home, Ozark, Mo.
